We paid a visit to the Holland Animation Film Festival in Utrecht! -> http://haff.awn.com/

Not only Utrecht was great, but we had the perfect cinema weather too, I got to see many good films I missed before.

Some of the highlights were, in my humble opinion, Don Hertzfeldt’s “I’m So Proud of You”, Jérémy Clapin’s Skhizein, Passeio de Domingo by José Miguel Ribeiro, La Maison en Petit Cubes by Kunio Kato (This year’s lucky Oscar winner).

I must say the Cartoon d’Or 2009 reel was the best one I saw – my personal favourites were Please Say Something (David O’Reilly) and Madagascar, Carnet de Voyage (Bastien Dubois). I spent as much time in the cinema as it was possible but I only got to see a fragment of the films that were showcased. Not surprising, the programme was a whopping 111 pages long!.
